Ngorongoro Highlands

The summits of Africa

The town of Karatu based in the Ngorongoro Highlands is the perfect base for exploring the protected area of Ngorongoro or to have a break from safaris in the north. In the town, you can visit the school, Njia Panda, renovated with donations from our Foundation.

Tribes such as the Datoga, Hadzabe, Masai, and Wairak still inhabit these lands.

We have beautiful coffee plantations, farmlands, and working farms in this region, a truly unique and relaxing accommodation offering.

We offer our guests market-style dishes with locally grown produce from the farms. Visit the crater or enjoy activities such as walking safaris to the Oldeani volcano or excursions to Lake Eyasi on the Rift Valley still inhabited by the Hadzabe tribe.
