It’s been more than two months since our last communication to you. They have been some of the strangest and most distressing two months that many of us have ever known. For many, moreover, that anguish has been compounded by pain, loss, and enormous dismay.
We are looking forward to meeting up again with friends and family, to opening our businesses, going to the movies or to dinner, doing sports, shopping, and of course, traveling. We are all looking forward to living again.
The mandatory 14-day quarantine upon entry to Tanzania has been lifted effective on the 18th May 2020, official document available link. Clients will not be quarantined upon arrival unless they are suspected to be affected by COVID-19.
Tanzania will be reopening its borders on June 1st 2020. The Government has launched a Standard Operative procedures for all the Tourist Industry.
We are all aware that many things are going to change therefore we will be sure to adapt.
Tanganyika Wilderness Camps (TWC) properties are operative as from 1st June 2020.
With this new scenario, TWC is taking all the necessary health measures in all of our camps and lodges to reassure the guests’ safety, well-being and to build-up the confidence with you. Below is the link to the protocol and procedures introduce in the properties.

The measures pivot in three directions:
Sanitary – New cleaning processes in common areas and rooms, dispensers and prevention kits available in all public areas, assuring personal distancing in common areas, first aid training for staff and Managers. Measures that are recommended by WHO (World Health Organization) and MoHCDEC (Ministry of Health Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children).
Flexibility – Specially agreed for you, with a flexible and amended cancellation Policy.
When bookings are confirmed or fully paid for the following terms apply:
Possible amendment and / or cancellation can be done up to 7 days before arrival with no charges.
As from 6 days before arrival, 100 % cancellation fee will apply.
Should the booking be paid for, a credit note will be issued.
Confidence – We are a certified partner who is taking all necessary measures, following the Standard Operating Procedure indicated by the Tanzanian Government and incorporating procedures introduced from the international hotel industry to both provide your client and our staff with the necessary safety and well-being.
